flew.world is a free flight logbook run by a limited liability company registered in New Mexico, USA. Questions or requests: info@flew.world.
What we store
- Your account: email address, name, username, home airport and settings. With email sign-up, a hashed password. With Google sign-in, your Google account ID, email address and name, nothing else from Google.
- Your flights and trips: what you add or import: dates, airports, flight numbers, airlines, seats, notes and stories.
- Your photos: the photos you add to a trip. Location and camera details are removed from the image itself; the details read on your device (time, place, camera) are kept only for you and never shown to others.
- Boarding passes and booking emails you scan, upload or forward are read to find the flights. You see what was found before anything is saved.
What is public
Your profile, year pages and trip pages are public only while your profile is set to public, and trip recaps only when you switch them on. Private profiles show visitors nothing. Upcoming flights and seat numbers are never shown publicly.
The Hall of Fame lists only members who choose to take part. With their name, it shows their name, profile picture and totals (distance, flights, airports, countries) while their profile is public. Anonymously, it shows only the totals and most-visited place, as “Anonymous traveller”, with no name, picture or link to the profile. Leaving or deleting your account removes you at once; making your profile private removes a named entry.
Who helps run the service
- Netlify hosts the site and stores account data.
- Cloudflare stores photos and media files.
- Resend sends the welcome email, invitations you choose to send, and the trip and year emails you can switch off.
- Google, only if you choose "Continue with Google".
- AI providers, through Token Broker, only for features you use: reading a boarding pass or booking email, describing photos you pick for an AI trip story, and drafting captions or stories.
- Flight data providers receive a flight number and date when you look a flight up.
- Clicky counts page visits (web analytics) and may set a cookie for that.
We don't sell your data and don't show ads.
Our own counts
flew.world counts steps such as "trip saved" or "video made" as anonymous daily totals, with no names, emails or trip details.
To run and improve the service we also keep an activity log for 90 days, seen only by the people who run flew.world: pages viewed and actions taken (for example "added flights" or "changed settings"), with your username when you are signed in or a random browser ID when you are not, your country (worked out from your connection; the IP address isn't stored), your device type and the site that linked to us. It never contains your flights, photos, emails or passwords.
Your choices
- Make your profile private, or switch individual trip recaps off, at any time.
- Switch each kind of email off in your settings or with the link in any email.
- Export your flights as CSV from the app.
- Delete your account in Settings → Delete account. Your flights, photos, stories and account are removed.
You can also ask us for a copy of your data or for corrections at info@flew.world, and you may complain to your data protection authority.
